... will finish The Magnificent Ambersons, even if it kills me.
... did not work one bit on finishing the desk.
... am okay with not working on the desk, because the reason is that Marty used it to get some work done!
... am eagerly awaiting my new bed from Overstock.com. For the love of god, they don't give you a choice, do they? You can either have it shipped for $1, or spend $100 and have it faster. I can't imagine many people take them up on it.
... finally talked Ethan in to letting me modify his bed, instead of buying a new one. He had his mind made up that he wanted a platform bed, and even went so far as to price the lumber to build one. I suggested (for the nine-millionth time) that we just cut the legs of his loft bed and make it whatever height he wants. He agreed, and I am awesome. Now I just have to find a pipe cutter, to avoid spending $30 on something I will use once.
... glad that I roasted four chickens the other day, and tossed the two extra ones into the freezer. I just need to warm it up, make a side and a salad and dinner is done.
... reconciled the checkbook and found an error - in our favor. Derp.
... can't believe that I just now figured out the meaning of this song. I love this song and listen to it frequently 9you should see my youtube playlist) and I guess I never bothered to think about it? That's the story I'm sticking with, anyway.
... need to get going on some five year plan stuff we are working on. More deets later. Maybe.
... can't believe that I just typed "deets" and am going to leave it.
... really wish something could be done about our local Freecycle. I Freecycled a microwave yesterday and the story the people who came to pick it up told me really pissed me off. Apparently, they posted asking for "any building materials" and the post was rejected. They were told that they couldn;t post a sob story (??) and that they had to post specific things. The crap part is that the same batch of posts that contained their rejected post contained a sob story asking for "anything household that you can spare" - and even asking for Christmas presents. This post ended with God Bless, so they added God Bless to their post and it was approved. WTF? There is one moderator, and they only approve posts once a month, if we are lucky. So if you offer something, you need to be prepared to sit on it and wait. Most people don't bother. What is it with Freecycle moderators in small towns? Is your life so meaningless that you have to go on a power trip with the damn freecycle list?
... off to rent Alex a game so that he can play it on his new monitor. It came 15 minutes ago and he has already set it up, played a game, and talked me in to getting him another one. (Yeah, see the mess he made in my freshly cleaned dining room?? I swear!)
